How can I apply for a handicap parking permit?: Applications can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office or you can download the form from our website. The form should be completed by the applicant's physician and returned to the Town Clerk’s Office along with applicant's ID.

1. How do I get a resident parking permit for the town parks and beaches?: Residents of Smithtown can request a parking permit online at www.tocite.net/smithtownny/portal by creating an account and uploading a photocopy of their vehicle registration. Once the request is approved by the town clerk’s office, the permit will be sent to residents via mail. Residents may also request a parking permit at the Town Clerk’s Office (located at Town Hall: 99 W. Main Street, Smithtown, NY 11787) by presenting a driver’s license and vehicle registration issued to a Town of Smithtown address.

2. Do I need a ramp sticker to launch a kayak or canoe?: Yes. You can purchase a canoe/kayak permit at the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours or you can purchase online.

4. How can I get on the marina / mooring waiting list?: You must be a Smithtown resident. Submit the application to the Town Clerk’s Office. The application is available in our office or can be downloaded from our website. View more information on Boat Slip and Mooring Lists.

5. How can I get the results of a bid?: Call (631) 360-7631 48 hours after the bid opening to get the unofficial results.

6. How much is a boat slip per foot?: The cost is $60 per foot (minimum of $1200).

7. How do I get a Green Key Pass?: Contact Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation at (631) 854-4949.

8. How do I get a hunting / fishing license?: Freshwater, saltwater, and hunting licenses can be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office.

9. How do I license my dog?: Dog licenses are issued by the Town Clerk’s Office. You must present proof of current rabies vaccination as well as proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered.

10. How do I obtain a copy of the deed to my house?: Contact the Suffolk County Clerk located in Riverhead at (631) 852-2000.

11. How do I register a business in Suffolk County?: Contact the Suffolk County Clerk located in Riverhead at (631) 852-2000.

13. Where can I get a copy of an advertised bid?: Advertised bids are available at the Town Clerk’s Office.

14. Where can I register to vote?: Contact the Suffolk County Board of Elections located in Yaphank at (631) 852-4500.
