PUBLIC NOTICE
Request for Written Comments on Proposed Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Site Relocation
Notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and
Planning has receive d an application from a Leaseholder, requesting to relocate from its 10-acre
shellfish aquaculture lease site in Napeague Bay to a new 10-acre lease site. Pursuant to Local
Law 25-2009, A Local Law Establishing the Suffolk County Shellfish Aquaculture Lease
Program in Peconic Bay and Gardiners Bay (Article II of the Suffolk County Code, §475),
leaseholders may reques t relocation of their leasehold interest for any reason up to two times
during the term of the lease. Please note that while thi s leaseholder has applied for three potential
relocation sites , following the site approval proce ss, it will be selecting one site to relocate to and
this lease acreage will not be taken from the 2017 Annual Acreage Cap.
All proposed lease sites are located within the adopted Shellfish Cultivation Zone and are
avai lable for lease. Pertinent data and information about the Lease Site Relocation Application,
including the name of the leaseholder, SCALP reference #, and proposed lease sites are
contained in the table below.

This Public Notice and the locations of the proposed lease sites may be reviewed at the address
listed below, or by accessing the Aquaculture Lease Program Website:

All comments regarding the lease site relocation application and proposed lease sites must be
prepared in writing and mailed to the contact person listed below by close of business on June
12, 2017. Such comments should be targeted to a specific lease site(s) by referencing the
applicable Lease Site Map ID #(s), as shown in this Public Notice. The comments should include
supporting documentation and data to the maximum extent possible. Those parties raising an
objection to the leasing of a particular site or sites based on reasons of natural productivity and
commercial fishery , should send a notarized letter, stating the particular reason(s) for the
objection. Documentation supporting the claim should also be provided, including a copy of the
parties' commercial harvest license, and documentation on harvests and sales , as applicable.
