Town of Smithtown Blood Drive

Blood Drive

Smithtown Blood Drive to be Held at Smithtown Landing Country Club on September 22

The Town of Smithtown Personnel Department, in collaboration with the New York Blood Center, will host a Blood Drive at the Smithtown Landing Country Club on September 22nd from 9AM to 3PM.

“Donating blood is literally a life saving gift… ask anyone who has been a recipient. Our community has a proud reputation of coming together to help one another in times of need. After speaking with our friends at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital last week, and learning of the blood shortage that is impacting the area, I am confident that our notably selfless residents will again step up to help.” - Supervisor Ed Wehrheim

Anyone wishing to help make a difference can schedule an appointment at www.nybc.org, click on “Donate Blood”, “Where to Donate”, then “Sponsor Name Search” and type in “Town of Smithtown”. Appointments are preferred but not required.

  • Must be 14 days symptom free if recovered from COVID-19

DID YOU KNOW:

Only 2% of the local eligible population donates blood each year, and if only 1% more of Americans donated, blood shortages would disappear.

The donation process will take an average of 10 minutes.
