Applications Now Open for Four (4) newly constructed Affordable Homes at Hudson Place at Kings Park

he Town of Smithtown in partnership with Community Development Corporation of Long Island, Inc. (CDCLI) and FRC Indian Crest, LLC, will host an Affordable Housing Lottery for Four (4) newly constructed Workforce Housing Rental Units within Hudson Place at Kings Park. Potential homeowners must submit Lottery Applications no later than 5:00 pm on March 22, 2019.

I am eager to meet the potential homeowners and welcome them to our great community.” - Supervisor Ed Wehrheim  


The Town of Smithtown’s will host a lottery drawing for the Hudson Place homes on March 26th, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Victor T. Liss Boardroom at Town Hall. Hudson Place at Kings Park is a 36-unit development located at 262 Indian Head Road in Kings Park, NY.


The workforce housing lottery is for three (3) one bedroom units (Total Monthly Gross Rent: $2,300) and one (1) two-bedroom unit (Total Monthly Gross Rent: $3,200). The total monthly gross rent includes a utility allowance of $113 for 1 bedroom units & $134 for the 2 bedroom unit.


How to Apply:

Lottery Applications can be found and completed online at www.cdcli.org. Hard Copies are available at the CDCLI offices located at 2100 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. Potential homeowners can also deliver hard copy applications to CDCLI.


In order to be eligible to participate in the Program, an applicant must meet all program requirements including a total household income not to exceed 130% of the area median income for Nassau / Suffolk Counties. Minimum incomes are required to ensure occupants do not exceed more than 33% of their gross annual income on rent plus a utility allowance.


The Town of Smithtown adopted a Municipal Workforce Housing Policy in October 2017, in accordance with New York State’s LI Workforce Housing Act. The Workforce housing policy requires developers building subdivisions with five or more units, to create 10% of the development for workforce housing.
