The Smithtown Animal and Adoption Center is proud to introduce this week’s Pet of the Week, Lilac a 4 year old Boxer. Lilac & her brother Rocky lost their home when their owner suffered a stroke. Lilac like any smart gal is a little cautious before she shows you any affection. Once Lilac trusts you, she is as sweet as the flower she’s named after. Lilac is well mannered, obedient, loyal, and so pleasant that you can't help but fall head over heels in love with her. Lilac gets along with most other dogs, however she is not a fan of cats.
Lilac is healthy, fully vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Lilac or any of the wonderful rescue dogs at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center, please call ahead to book an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic setting, which includes our Meet and Greet Room, dog runs, and our Dog Walk trail.
Thinking About Adoption:
The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center’s primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to us. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or we can set up an at home meet & greet to see how your prospective family member does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
Summer hours at Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center are currently Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM and Saturday 8AM - 4:00PM. (Sunday’s: by appointment only). To Inquire about the pet of the week or to meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center at 631-360-7575.
