Captain Kevin Williams will present his first address as Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct liaison to the Town of Smithtown on Tuesday, May 8th during the Town Board meeting at 2pm. Councilman Tom Lohmann previously arranged for Captain Williams to attend town board meetings on a monthly basis, at the beginning of April this year to inform the public and the town board of ongoing issues that the precinct is addressing.
“The town board is eagerly anticipating this first presentation and I am truly thankful to both Councilman Lohmann and Captain Williams for expediting this alliance... This partnership will provide a deeper understanding of the meticulous work that our local law enforcement performs every day. It will provide the community a deeper understanding of how we can make our neighborhoods safer and improve upon transparency.” - Supervisor Ed Wehrheim
Captain Williams will update the town on recent arrests and progress in addressing the illegal sale of liquid nicotine to minors, recent Massage Parlor busts, the Opioid Epidemic (specific to our community), Cyber Bullying & Bullying, addressing Speeding and placing sector cars in trouble spots, in addition to updating a Road Closure list for upcoming parades and other special events.
Residents who have questions pertaining to the fourth precinct should call ahead or email Councilman Tom Lohmann prior to each monthly presentation. Councilman Lohmann can be reached via email at twlohmann@tosgov.com or by calling 631-360-7621
