The Town Board of the Town of Smithtown, as SEQRA Lead Agency, issued a SEQRA Positive Declaration regarding the above referenced proposal on December 15, 2020, thereby requiring the preparation of a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) regarding this plan. Scoping of the DGEIS is required by law and the Town’s consultant has prepared the Draft Scoping Document which is posted on this website. All items identified in the Draft Scoping Document will be addressed in the subsequent Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement, which will also be made available for public review upon its completion.

 At this time, the Town is requesting written comments from the public identifying additional issues which should reasonably be considered in the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement. Such written comments should be submitted to the following address:

The comment period on the Draft Scoping Document runs until 5:00 pm on January 22, 2021. Upon completion of the comment period, the Town will prepare a Final Written Scope which will provide the basis for the subsequent Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement to be prepared regarding this proposal.
