February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Dating violence can happen to any teen in a romantic, dating, or sexual relationship, anytime, anywhere. But it doesn't have to happen at all. Learn how to prevent teen dating violence and to promote healthy relationships.

Our February Newsletter is now available!

This year is a Letter Writing Contest to say "Thank you" to our active-duty and veterans.
  •  Entries will be categorized as    K-4, 5-8 and 9-12 grade.
  •  Winners will be acknowledged  and asked to read their submission at Smithtown Youth Bureau's Global Youth Service Day event in April

Kindly submit entry no later than February 22, 2016

The Smithtown Youth Bureau will be hosting a community Day of Service to celebrate Global Youth Service Day.  Students and family members will have the opportunity to spend the morning engaged in a card writing project for veterans and/or active-duty members of the military.  Students are also recognized for previous volunteer activities.

The Smithtown Youth Bureau is responsible for planning and supporting programs and opportunities for young people and their families. Youth projects are researched and developed with the assistance of the Town Youth Board.

The Youth Bureau administers the Parent Resource Center, offering support and education to parents in addition to providing youth development programs and opportunities for students throughout the Town of Smithtown. These programs are funded by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Suffolk County Youth Bureau, and the Town of Smithtown.

Join the Youth Advisory Board
We are currently seeking interested high school students and adults to join our active town wide Youth Advisory Board. Some past projects the Youth Advisory Board have developed include: Global Youth Services Day, Safe Summer Nights, and an After H.S. Forum.
