syblogo.jpgThis Month's Awareness Topic

Every month the Youth Bureau focuses on a different awareness topic. Our theme for March is National Self Harm Awareness Month (SIAD)! For sixteen years, March 1st has been an international event recognized across the globe.  Self-harming is when a person deliberately hurts themselves physically to deal with the emotional pain they are suffering from.  On this day, and in the days and weeks leading up to it, some people choose to be more open about their own self harm.

For more information, please check out Routledge Mental Health.
