Fifteen (15) High School Student Volunteers 
Are Needed to 
Help Run this Program!!!

 *Town Certificates of Community Service will be provided*




The following is a brief overview of volunteer tasks for the Summer Bash event: Volunteers should arrive at 5:00 to help unload cars and set up for the event.   A more limited # of volunteers will be needed after 7pm.
 
  • Bringing  supplies down  to pool area 
  • Setting-up         
  • Registration
  • Raffle & Food Tickets
  • Pizza Dinner Service 
  • Clean-up and bringing remaining supplies to cars

Partner Agency Volunteer Opportunities...

St. James Civic Association "Summer Nights" 
Seeking H.S. Student Volunteers!!!




 
Ten (10) H.S. Student Volunteers are needed Each Night for the St. James Civic Association "Summer Nights" program:

Wednesdays from 5pm to 9pm, on the following dates:

 June 27th
 July 11th
 July 25th
 August 8th
 August 22nd 


VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
*Assisting children activities - Children's "Paint Night"

*Supervising the area of backyard games on the lawn of the school

*Checking in with vendors throughout the night 

*Set-up (3:00PM-5:00PM) - Help with unloading & setting up tables, supplies, etc.

*Break-down (8:30PM-9:30PM) - Help pickup the backyard games, paint night supplies, breakdown tables
 
VOLUNTEER HOURS:
They can use help at any point of the night, set-up is probably most helpful
 
PROOF OF HOURS:
Volunteers should check in with a committee member and they can provide proof of community service hours on civic association letterhead.

Town of Smithtown Partners with 
Suffolk County Community College


Seeking 5-6  Students with Acting Experience
To Produce Radio PSA's


Town of Smithtown Horizons Counseling & Education Center and Youth Bureau will  be partnering with Suffolk Community College's Radio/TV Department to produce several Radio Public Service Announcements this summer dealing with youth substance use and abuse.
 
There will be two planning/production meetings; one on 
July 9
th

and the other 
July 16
th 
at the Horizons Center in Smithtown, 161 E. Main Street, Smithtown, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.

Then there will be a taping in a sound studio at Suffolk Community College. 
These Radio PSA's will be played on WALK Radio and their affiliate stations!!!
 
If you have acting experience and are interested in participating, please register by June 29th.  Your skills and talents are needed!!!

 Register quickly since there are only 5-6 Radio PSA volunteer openings.  Registration is required for PSA actors.
