Anger Management

Program Overview
Anger Management groups work to provide teenagers healthy and appropriate alternatives to expressing their anger. They strive to educate teenagers about intense emotions, such as, anger, frustration, and rage. Providing insight into mind/body connection and reassuring teenagers that having such emotions is completely normal.  These groups work to acknowledge the source of teens’ discontent, identifying how teens currently deal with their anger, and guide them toward attaining their goals of expression without hurting themselves or others. It is important for teens to learn that they have the ability to control how they respond to anger and provide them with the proper tools to do so.  Teens can learn to express their anger constructively, sometimes it is just a matter of providing them with the proper platform to do so.

This program is based off of the SAMHSA Anger Management booklet.
