Reconnecting Youth
Preventing School Dropouts
Reconnecting Youth (RY) is a school-based prevention program for high school students in grades 9 through 12 (14 to 18 years old) who are at risk for school dropout. This program is also effective for youth may also exhibit multiple behavior problems, such as substance abuse, aggression, depression, or suicide risk behaviors.

Reconnecting Youth uses a partnership model involving peers, school personnel, and parents to deliver interventions that address the three central program goals:
  • Decreased drug involvement
  • Decreased emotional distress
  • Increased school performance

Reconnecting Youth has been approved as a SAMHSA Research Based Model Program and is available free of charge to all local school districts.
