About Horizons


Established in 1979, Horizons is an OASAS-licensed not-for-profit agency
funded to provide adolescent and adult treatment, prevention and education
services for drug and alcohol related problems.

  • Daytime and evening appointments available.
  • Services include assessment, counseling groups, individual sessions, 
             and an array of specialized treatment and prevention programming  
  • Fees are based on a sliding scale. Private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare
             are accepted. Payment methods include: cash, check, MasterCard and Visa.
  • Drinking Driver Classes available on site through Stony Brook Drinker 
             Driver Program (DDP).

 

Counseling
Counseling is by appointment only. Co-occurring services, psychiatric
 evaluations and Medication Assisted Therapy is available.  For more

Parenting Programs
Parenting programs are available to assist parents in the development of effective parenting techniques. These presentations include:

Join the Youth and Community Alliance of Smithtown
The Youth and Community Alliance of Smithtown is a town-wide coalition established in 2006. Individuals from all sectors of the community are welcome.  The mission is to promote the health and wellness of young people; mobilize schools and communities; and utilize resources to create and sustain an environment where destructive decisions, underage alcohol use, tobacco use, marijuana, and opiate use is reduced. Free Drug Testing Kits Available
Courtesy of the Suffolk County Sheriff's office there are free drug testing kits available upon request.

Overdose Prevention Rescue: Narcan Training

Narcan, also known as Naloxone, is a prescription medication that reverses an opioid overdose. Opioids include heroin, morphine, oxycodone, methadone, hydrocodone, and other prescription pain medications.
